Strategies to prevent or treat muscle mass loss related to age have received much attention, yet we could not find
studies on short, medium or long-term elastic resistance training of older adults. It is important, therefore, to know
if short-term elastic resistance training has an adequate duration (i.e. in terms of specific training variable) to provide
minimum and significant benefits for muscle mass in untrained older adults. To our knowledge, this is the first
study to analyze the effects of a short-term training with elastic resistance on muscle mass of health and untrained
older adults population.
