GIS data (digital geographic data) can be divided into 2 types:
1) Spatial data: describe the locations of spatial features, which may be discrete or
continuous. Spatial data consist of vector and raster data.
1.1) Vector data in a digital geographic database depict individual spatial features as
discrete entities using three basic graphical elements: points, lines, and polygons.
1.2) Raster data is characterized by subdividing a geographic space into grid cell.
2) Attribute data: describe characteristic and linked its spatial features, represent as
table (qualitative and quantitative data). Attribute table can be define by measurement
scale: nominal, ordinal, interval and ratio data.
