Superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), and ascorbate
peroxidase (APX) activities were enhanced during progressive
drought conditions. While SOD and APX activities
were significantly higher in the leaves receiving more light,
CAT activity was lower (Fig. 9-A). When leaf RWCs >75%,
SOD and APX activities displayed higher values under 100%
sunlight than under 60 and 25% sunlight at the same leaf
RWCs. CAT activity, however, was much higher at 25% sunlight
than at 60 and 100% light intensities (Fig. 9-B and D).
