To demonstrate the effectiveness of the cuttlefish bone, we
varied the initial content of fluoride. The results are summarized in
Table 3. Fluoride removal was not affected by the initial F
concentration over the whole range from 2.5 to 10 mg L1, which
could be considered to be an important advantage over the
conventional method. Similar results were obtained by Huang et al.
[42]. It should be noted that the residual fluoride after treatment
with cuttlefish bone was consistent with drinking water standards
for an initial concentration of fluoride in the range of 7.5 mg L1.
