Australia v England 3rd ODI; Eoin Morgan top scores in Sydney
England have set Australia 244 to win the third one-day international after a below-par batting display in Sydney.
Needing a victory to keep the five-match series alive and raise spirits on what has been a tour to forget, only Eoin Morgan (54) posted a half-century as a number of batsmen failed to build on promising starts.
Tim Bresnan's unbeaten 41 down the order gave England, who won the toss at the start of the day, faint hope, but Australia look favourites at the halfway stage after restricting their opponents to 243-9.
Nathan Coulter-Nile (3-47) was the pick of the Australia bowlers, but it was the recalled Dan Christian who turned the innings with the wickets of Morgan and Jos Buttler in successive overs.
