The time required for shredding rice straw is shown in Table 6.
Smaller particle sizes required longer shredding time. Considering
the time and energy consumption required for shredding and the
quality of rice straw pellets, the optimal particle size was 10 or
20 mm when the forming temperature was at 60 or 80 C, and
the initial moisture content was adjusted to the optimal range
between 13% and 20%. If the forming temperature cannot be controlled
and increases to 100 C, the initial moisture content should
be adjusted to 20%. Consequently, this study determined the optimal
conditions required to produce rice straw pellets as follows:
