MDCT SCAN OF THE BRAIN
History: R/O recurrent stroke
Technique: Plain axial CT scan of the brain was performed with 1.0 mm slice thickness.
Comparison: CT brain on 14/12/2013
Findings:
The study reveals old infarction at the left frontal lobe. Cystic encephalomalacic change at the right inferior cerebellar hemisphere is again noted. The rest of brain parenchyma and ventricular system are unremarkable. There is no acute large territory infarction, intracranial hemorrhage, extra-axial collection, hydrocephalus, midline shift or brain herniation.
The visualized posterior fossa appears normal.
The cranial vault and the skull base are intact.
Mucosal thickening at bilateral ethmoid sinuses is seen. The visualized orbits, rest of paranasal sinuses and mastoid air cells are unremarkable.
Impression:
- Old infarction at the left frontal lobe
- Cystic encephalomalacic change at the right inferior cerebellar hemisphere
