Falcon Island will also be totally powered by solar technologies and it will use a hybrid district cooling system which will provide temperature control at a fraction of conventional costs.

Work will start this month on the project, in time for an October 2016 completion date.
Falcon Island is part of the Al Hamra Village site in Ras Al Khaimah, which covers an area of 77 million square feet and includes 1.5 kilometres of beach, over 1,000 villas and town homes, nearly 2,500 residential apartments, five hotels including the Waldorf Astoria, an 18-hole golf course, a marina, and a shopping mall.
