Phylogenetic relationships were investigated among the CC-NBS-LRR proteins, such as BPH14 and the proteins encoded by blast-disease-resistance genes in Oryza species (Fig. 5). BPH26 was more closely related with some disease-resistance proteins than with BPH14. The amino acid sequences of the main motifs in BPH26, BPH14, and PIB were compared. In CC-NBS domain, the amino acid sequences of the main motifs were well-conserved, although none of the motifs had the same amino acid sequences between BPH26 and BPH14 (Supplementary Fig. S5 online).
