Firstly, thanks for the response. Actually I did go through the application process for most of the places in the fall as well, but like I said, I just didn't get too many call backs for interviews and I'm not sure if thats because I am not a citizen or not.
I have had some work experience albeit very informal in nature and without much structure (I did a bunch of cold calling at one place but at the other one I did some work calculating IRR's of potential investments).
Since the university is so big the career centre really just gives us the same generic bullshit that I assume they give all international students. I just want to do something meaningful this summer and make sure that it doesn't look like I just sat around and did nothing for 3 months, whether it be online courses or an internship.
The other thing that really ticks me off is most of these internships expect prior experience which is just so frustrating because I can't get experience without already having experience. Its farcical.
