"The S stands for specific. Goals should state exactly what the person is
responsible for. The M stands for measurable," said Randall.
"That's like the second part of One Minute Goal Setting," added the
entrepreneur. "Subordinates need to know not only what they're being held
accountable for but also how performance is going to be measured and what a
good job looks like."
"You're right," said Randall. "The A in SMART stands for attainable. The goals
have to be reasonable. Whether or not they're reasonable depends on what's
happened in the past.
