The blood test detects antibodies against syphilis done two ways.
The blood test for antibodies which are specific to syphilis. Including drilling VDRL (Venereal Disease Research Laboratory) or RPR (Rapid Plasma Reagent) if a positive blood test to confirm the diagnosis.
The blood test to confirm the diagnosis by drilling FTA-ABS (Fluorescent Treponemal Antibody Absorption Test) or MHA-TP (Microhemagglutination-Treponema Pallidum).
