of mounts received, duration of estrus, longest interval
between mounts, and whether the longest interval between
mounts was in the first or last half of estrus were
determined for a completely randomized design using
PROC GLM. The model included confinement area,
number of cows in estrus, replicate, and all first-order
interactions. Scheffe’s test was used to compare means
when treatment effects were significant. Correlations
among duration of estrus, number of mounts received
per estrus, and number of cows in estrus were determined
with PROC CORR.
