The expression levels of the ZmWRKY68 gene displayed a pattern similar to that of ZmWRKY21 (Fig. 1C) in the non-treated
control. The ZmWRKY68 gene displayed elevated expression levels at 0 and 3 DAI, and became marginally significant at 4 DAI in B73 (Fig.1K) in response to inoculation. InTZAR101 (Fig.1L), there was a significant suppression of the ZmWRKY68 in responding to wounding, and A. flavus inoculation, which recovered slowly and was only marginally significant at 14 DAI compared to the control (Table S7).
