Each of us needs to be able to recognize situations in which the trade compliance standards apply. This includes imports, exports, and any situation in which a company product is crossing international borders.
Some of these situations are obvious, such as when you are shipping a product outside the country. However, did you know that the following are also exports?
Giving a speech at a conference that includes technical information about our products.
Sending information to someone by e-mail, or discussing it over the telephone.
Posting information on a public website.
Installing, repairing, or maintaining items that are located in a different country.
Under U.S. law, showing new technology to a foreign national who is in your country (including foreign national employees of our company), or giving foreign nationals a plant tour that includes engineering or manufacturing areas.
