The lignocellulosic composition analysis showed that during the 15 days of biodegradation, mono- and co-culture mainly
degraded hemicellulose and lignin. Due to a parallel degradation of carbohydrates, the relative lignin content of biotreated samples increased. Compared with the monoculture, the co-culture evidently degraded cellulose and hemicellulose, resulting in higher relative lignin content than that of both monocultures (Table 1).
