Introduction and Cultural Dimensions
Setting up a global business is not as simple as constructing a building in the country of
choice. It is about understanding the implication of the culture for people and the business. As
sourcing shifts continue to change, and as pressure increases for multinationals to open more
facilities in different parts of the globe, taking the time upfront to learn how to communicate
with each other, how to interpret body language and the importance of the business relationship
definitely will help speed up the growth of the business. Furthermore, a manager needs to
recognize the effects cultural change and shifts will have on people and the organization. If one
does not recognize that a change has occurred, s/he may not understand the implications of that
shift (Mujtaba, 2007). The affiliation between the environment and the culture shift will affect
how the manager performs his/her responsibilities
