Non-toxic, Pesticide Safe, Organic Farming, or Hydroponic Vegetables are
labeled on food packaging. These names can make the consumer confident that
vegetables are not contaminated with pesticides and chemical fertilizers. However the
results of analysis by state agencies and private organizations indicated that residual
chemicals exceeded the standard and some chemicals were high toxic and were
detected in many kinds of vegetables. Several institutes, domestic and abroad, have
continued to do the chemical contamination surveillance. Therefore, organic vegetables
may not safe by the label packaging although the customer have the reliable purchase
from places due to the unseen residues. Thus, it is recommended that the customer
should wash vegetables before eating to reduce the residual chemicals in the body.
