Russian woman robbed of iPhone
PHUKET — A 35-year-old Russian woman was attacked and robbed of her iPhone 6s and some money in Thalang district on Saturday morning.
Olga Shnyreva was riding a bicycle along Ban Tha Rua-Ban Koh Kaew Road in Srisoonthorn sub-district when two men on a motorcycle approached her and the driver kicked her bike. Ms Shnyreva fell off her bicycle and sustained scratches on her right elbow and shoulder.
The pillion rider snatched her iPhone worth 26,000 baht from the bicycle’s handlebars and fled the scene. The robbers also made off with 400 baht attached to the phone.
Ms Shnyreva told police that both of her assailants had tattoos on their faces.
The robbery took place on a two-lane road that cuts through rubber and oil palm plantations for dozens of kilometres, where the Russian woman had gone for some morning exercise.
Pol Lt Col Sanit Nookong, an investigator with the Thalang station, said officers would try to find and bring the robbers to justice quickly.
