All data were transferred into a Microsoft Excel (Microsoft,
Redmond, Washington) spreadsheet. For image quality assessments
weighting factors were applied in order to calculate the total
image scores for each image, at kVp, for each orientation. Subsequent
statistical analysis was performed using SPSS Statistics 20
(IBM Corp, Armonk, NY), in order to assess differences in image
quality scores between raters using an intra-class correlation coefficient
(ICC). The Shapiro Wilk test was used to confirm the
approximate distribution of the data. If the datawas approximately
normally distributed (P 0.05) then they were summarised as
mean values plus or minus their respective standard deviations. If
the data were not normally distributed (P < 0.05) then median
values together with the inter-quartile range (IQR) were reported.
