At baseline, the study population consisted of 74.1% women, with a mean age of 50 years, SD 12 years (Table 1). Since Prospect is a female cohort, all male participants were included from the MORGEN cohort, where 45.8% of our included study population was male. Mean intake of phylloquinone and menaquinones was 200.3, SD 98.1 μg/day and 30.6, SD 13.7 μg/day, respectively. With higher intakes of phylloquinone and menaquinones, participants were more often female, older, had a higher energy adjusted intake of protein and vitamin c and more often had hypertension and diabetes, whereas their energy intake and dietary glycemic load were lower.
