The ACS makes use of these guidelines to influence legislative and regulatory issues that support nutrition and physical activity; to influence environmental changes that increase public access to and availability of healthful foods and opportunities for physical activity;to advise the public about issues related to nutrition, physical activity, and cancer; and to develop education programs and interventions designed to improve the dietary and activity habits of people of all ages.
