•Vomiting
•Sleeping more than usual
•Rashes
•Coughing, sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes

♥Think about how you feel when you are unwell. How do you know that you are beginning to get sick? What about children you have cared for in the past. Have any of them been sick at the time?
A child’s behavior can also tell you about how they are feeling
Your host parents will be happy to tell you about their child. Talk about their personality, their behavior and activity level. Try asking questions like “what is your child like on an average day?” or “I will get to know your child personally, but before I do what can you tell me about their everyday behavior?”
icon-16Some host parents will even be able to tell you how their children act when they’re unwell or starting to get sick. Get to know your host children’s behavior patterns, and ask your host parents to discuss the list above. This list is in the notes section of your Au Pair Travel Kit.
Anytime you notice something new or different about the child’s behavior or if the child is expressing any sensitivity or discomfort, always communicate that to your host parents.
