RESULTS
The presence of antibodies against FIV was detected by Western blot in nine of the 300 examined
samples (prevalence 3.0%). FeLV DNA was detected by TaqMan real-time PCR in 15 of the 300
samples (prevalence 5.0%). Both FIV antibodies and FeLV antigens were present in two samples.
Results obtained for the 300 samples, including the percentage, the sensitivity, specificity, and the
positive and negative predictive values of both test kits, are summarized in table 1 and 2.
