The survey was conducted throughout the US during the month of October 2010. This article highlights the findings related to LGBT consumer behaviour trends within the segment.
LGBT tourists moving away from “all-gay” travel
At the same time LGBT tourists showed interest in visiting popular and mainstream tourist attractions in a destination, many respondents opted for LGBT neighbourhoods and to go to gay bars and/or nightclubs. The somewhat balanced mix between mainstream and gay activities points to a trend away from “all-gay” travel in 2010. Shopping and small day-trips were also popular among LGBT tourists when visiting domestic and international destinations.
