The great Aletch Glacier is said to be the jewel of UNESCO’s Jungfrau-Aletsch World Heritage Site where, with matchless elegance, an endless stream of ice makes its way towards the majestic peaks. And views of such natural beauty are enjoyed up-close on the trail that runs along the north side of the Aletsch-Arena from the Riederalp to Fiescheralp. From the Moosfluh starting point, in gentle ups and downs, the route leads first to Uf de Setzu (although you can also climb to scenic Bettmerhorn and continue the hike from there). Via Roti Chumma you reach the fabled Märjelensee lake - from where you can conveniently cross beneath the Tälligrat in a lit tunnel - and on through Obers Tälli and Salzgeb you then reach the Fiescheralp following a gentle descent. A more scenic although more strenuous option is of course a direct crossing of the Tälligrat to the Fiescheralp...but the choice is yours!
