200 Million Lottery Winner Calls in "Rich"
April 2nd, Mayburg - When 59 year old Mayburg resident James Bascombe realised that he had won the PowerBall Mega Monster Lotto Jackpot of 200 Million, it didn't take him long to know what his next action would be.
"I called in rich", he said, explaining that he resigned permanently from his long time role as Accounts Payable Manager at Liberate U Shoes.
Bascombe picked up his Lotto ticket at a corner store while visiting the beach over the recent holiday weekend. "You hear people say that a trip pays for itself. Well, this one really did!" Bascombe and his wife are planning to use the money to buy a new permanent residence at their favourite beachside town, and take life easy for a while.
"My first stop will probably be at the sports car dealer, but then we'll head down to the estate agent to find a new house." He mentioned that they would likely use the remaining money to start a charitable foundation supporting sufferers of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
About leaving the company he'd worked with since it formed 25 years ago, Bascombe said "The folks at Liberate won't miss me for long. I'd imagine some young whipper-snapper is going to come along and try to do everything I did, only in half the time. More power to them. I'm going to the beach!
