From the articles surveyed in this study, it is evident that substantial progress has been achieved in the treatment of wastewater containing sulfur dyes, and there is also an indication that some of the approaches tend to be more effective than
others. Although the amounts of chemicals used are quite large and the operating cost quite high, the physicochemical methods and/or their combined methods are still often employed for color removal as well as for the elimination of sulfur dyes from waters and wastewaters.
