This study also revealed that those patients who were alone
during the incident weremore likely to arrive at the hospital later
than those who were accompanied by a companion/attendant/
escort during the AMI event.
This finding is in line with other
studies (Herlitz et al. 2010; Perry et al. 2001).
We can easily find
a logical explanation for the above relationship based on the fact
that patients who are alone lack the influence of another person
who can recommend them to seek care or help them arrive at the
hospital.
