A Sand Hotel has opened in the Netherlands to coincide with annual sand sculpture festivals in Dutch cities of Oss and Sneek.
The 2 one-bedroom sandcastles were built by the festival organisers, Global PowWow.
It’s reported the hotel walls are lined inside and out with reinforced sand to protect against wind & rain and that the €150 per night rooms are equipped with running water, Wi-Fi, a queen bed, bathroom and carpet.
Inspired by ice hotels in Finland and Sweden, the Sand Hotel is already booked out and due to be closed in October but rebuilt next year.
