The absorbance signals were recorded with a Model
TE 200 recorder (Tekman Electronics Ltd, Oxfordshire,
England) having a full-scale deflection response time
of less than 0.3 s. The instrument was modified by
changing the damping of the output signal from 0.3 s to
50 ms, for faster response. This modification gives an
undamped signal to the recorder and increases the
sensitivity and the absorbance range, which has a linear
response (14).
The instrument was also equipped with a Peak
Reader Module (PRM-6; LL-Electronics, Ume#{225}S,weden),
which gives the peak area (in absorbance (A) X s)
and the peak h#{231}ight (in A).
