How to submit an application

Biometric Requirement
As of December 11, 2013, citizens of Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar (Burma), between the ages of 14 and 79 must give their biometrics (fingerprints and photographs) when submitting an application for a visitor visa, study permit or work permit. This new requirement affects citizens from 29 countries and one territory.
You can give your biometrics at the visa application centres (VACs) in Thailand or Cambodia.

If you need to give your biometrics, please DO NOT mail in your application to the VAC. Instead, you must apply online* or in person at the VAC in Bangkok or Phnom Penh.
* If you apply online and you need to give your biometrics you will have to go in person to a VAC to have your biometrics taken.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS RESIDING IN MYANMAR : Due to government regulation it is not possible for our office to mail passports into Myanmar. If you will not be waiting in Thailand while your application is processed you may submit your application with only a photocopy of all pages of your passport. When our office is ready to issue your visa we will contact you to request you to bring your passport to the Embassy or you may designate an authorized third person to submit and collect your passports on your behalf.
Family class:
All applications to sponsor a family class member must be submitted to the Case Processing Centre in Canada. For more information on how to submit your application and the forms of payment, refer to Sponsoring Your Family.
Economic Class:
All applicants in the economic classes must submit their initial application to the Centralized Intake Office (CIO) in Canada. For more information on how to submit your application, please refer to the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) website.
NOTE: We do not accept enquiries in person.
