The plot began when Jamal needs to afford a lot of difficult situations with his new teacher who thinks that Jamal cannot write because he comes from the Bronx and plays basketball. Forrester’s devotion to Jamal becomes better when he must defend allegations of plagiarism by Professor Crawford (F. Murray Abraham), puts in Jamal’s future in a uncertain situation.
Finding Forrester is a movie full of scenes relevant with education. The one that I found interesting is when Professor Forester defined the process of writing. According to him the first draft of your writing should be with your heart and then the second draft with your brain. It may sound strange because it is not something that we are accustomed to. For example it is a fact that in order to be accepted in most of the CUNY (The City University of New York) colleges in United States you should take a test named CAT-W in which the students have only 90 minutes to write a respond essay. Personally, I know that it is almost impossible to pass this test if it is written with your heart. This kinds of writings require a more deeply and logical understanding.
