Major findings of this study are two-fold. First, it identifies distinct
ULWR usage patterns and preferred sources of information across
user groups. Second, responses to library usage factors varied across
user groups. These variances may be derived from users' distinct
academic tasks. One of the unanticipated findings was the users'
general perceptions on the complexity of the website design.
This study's findings offer benefits to both academia and practitioners.
For academia, it offers a comprehensive understanding of the
use of ULWR and distinctive usage patterns of library websites;
subsequently, if researchers use a single group of users as a research
sample, the findings may differ from other research findings that used
a different sample group. As a result, this study's comprehensive
analysis of different user groups' ULWR usage offers a more complete
picture for academia. For practitioners, it is recommended to design
user-focused library websites that enhance the usability of ULWR and
to provide customized services to different user groups in order to
increase usage.
