There has been limited research on creating
accessible Web based systems for individuals with
cognitive and learning disabilities. The primary
focus of web accessibility issues has been on systems
for the visually impaired, as these impairments are
well-understood. This paper describes current
human-computer interaction research for cognitive
and/or learning disabled individuals, and outlines
several human-computer interaction challenges that
arise when designing web-based systems for them. A
prototype e-Learning system, designed to simplify
many complex steps used in the online systems for
these individuals, is presented.
