Bodaghi and Zainab (2012) established that, there is lack of assistive
technologies to convert print to Braille and suitable audio recorders to
create audio corrections.Majinge (2014) established that there are usually
no assistive technologies suitable for students living with visual impairments
in most academic libraries. Seyama (2009) noted that, the
University of KwaZulu-Natal library did not have a JAWS programme,
therefore the students living with visual impairments have to walk to
the LAN rooms each time they need information from database.
Bagandanshwa (2006) claimed that assistive technologies were neither
available in Tanzania nor were they manufactured in the country
making their procurement costly.
