Under general supervision, responsible for writing technical copy for various operation and maintenance manuals and technical publications. Prepares outline of contents and written text. Coordinates layout and organization of manuals and other documents. Interprets necessary data, drawings, and specifications through research and liaison with technical staff. May direct lower level writers and coordinate efforts of editors and illustrators. Requires working knowledge of organization product line(s), customer requirements, purpose and structure of document, and user's level of understanding. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and five or more years of experience.
