Then in July 2010, Brenntag acquired EAC Industrial Ingredients, which has been a long established provider of chemical distribution solutions in South and South East Asia. With this major acquisition, Brenntag reinforced its growth strategy in Asia Pacific gaining access to an established distribution network, in-depth knowledge of local markets and relationships with a broad customer and supplier base.
In 2011, Brenntag signed a purchase agreement to acquire 100% of Zhong Yung (International) Chemical Ltd. Brenntag holds a majority stake of 51% and will acquire the remaining stake in 2016. Zhong Yung is focused on the distribution of solvents with established commercial and logistical infrastructure in the key economic regions in China
In July 2012, Brenntag acquired the ISM/Salkat Group, a leading distributor of specialty chemicals in Australia and New Zealand. This acquisition expands Brenntag’s market position in Australia and New Zealand and enlarges the existing specialty product portfolio in the region.
Brenntag continues to grow in the Asia Pacific region. At present, Brenntag Asia Pacific operates in Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, UAE and Vietnam.
