Impact categories of terrestrial ecotoxicity (TET), marine ecotoxicity (MET) and freshwater ecotoxicity (FET) describe the
impacts on the ecosystem due to toxic substances that are emitted to air, water and soil (Goedkopp et al., 2009). The data show that energy crops would incur higher ecotoxicity impacts than cattle manure, predominantly due to the chemical fertilizers and pesticide inputs to the cultivation processes (Table 1). Ozone depletion (OD) and natural land transformation (NLT) impacts were negligible for single feedstock digestion.
