HISTORY : A case presented with transient visual loss.
NON-CONTRAST MDCT SCAN OF THE BRAIN
The study reveals a small hypodense lesion at anterior limb of left internal capsule.
Mild brain atrophy with cavum septum pellucidum is seen.
Calcified bilaterl globus pallidi are observed.
The ventricles, cortical sulci and basal cisterns re within normal limits.
There is no shifting of midline structures.
The visualized paranasal sinuses and mastoids appear normal.
Bony structures are intact.
IMPRESSION :
-Acute to subacute lacunar infarction at anterior limb of left internal capsule.
-Mild brain atrophy.
-No demonstrable intracranial hemorrhage.
-Please note that acute cerebral infarction may not visualize on CT, please follow up if clinical consider.
