Most people are aware that huge parts of the earth’s surface - about 8.75 million acres in total – are covered by tropical rainforests. A lot has been written about the destruction of these beautiful areas, and it’s true that every day more and more these are being cut down. It has been estimated that every hour apiece of rainforest the size of a football field is destroyed. Nevertheless, rainforests continue to be places where many different types of plants, insects, and animals can be found.
