The task-specific information requirements identified for engineers
doing risk assessment are given in Table 3. The table shows
the category and distribution of the identified information during
Phases I and II of the elicitation. If the information is repeated
for more than one phase, it is shown as bold. According to the table,
the percentages of the information collected during Phase I and
Phase II are 37 and 63%, respectively. The majority of the requirements
were identified in Phase II. This is because the initial set of
information was based on the software evaluation and open-ended
answers from the participants; therefore, the requirements covered
only the conceptual general categories. The second set of the interviews
were performed to discuss the concepts with engineers in
more detailed way. Further, the literature and documentation review
also contributed to the information gathering. For this reason, the
findings of Phase II are more determinative and informative as
compared with Phase I.
