Table 9.1 show the results of a student that examined the grading practices of teacher in each subject area reported as having had the most influence on their decisions about grades and the three factors that they named as having receives the least consideration. Teacher in eight of the nice subject areas listed unit tests and midterm exams and teacher in five areas identified quizzes as among the most influential factors. All are examples of product criteria. At least one process criterion [class discussion or attendance ] was mentioned by all groups of teachers as having had little time influence on students grades.
