In this work, we synthesized a kind of mesoporous TiO2
microspheres and fabricated CdS QDSCs based on the mesoporous
TiO2 photoanode. The mesoporous TiO2 microspheres have a large
surface area and appropriate sizes, which are extraordinarily
suitable for QDs deposition and light scatter. Based on this
photoanode, a photoelectric conversion efficiency as high as 2.63%
was obtained for the MTM-6SILAR-CdS solar cells. The SPV results
reveal that the photoanode based on CdS/mesoporous TiO2
microspheres shows consistent SPV behavior in its whole
absorption region, which is very beneficial to the collection of
photo-generated electrons on the electrode. On the basis of
the current results, it is believed that the mesoporous TiO2
microspheres are worth of widely studied and have a further
potential for practical application.
