In general terms Pinus caribaea presents the lowest concentrations of nutrients in the biomass among all the species while Hieronyma alchorneoides and Gmelina arborea present the
highest concentrations of N, P,K and Mg in the foliage. Terminalia amazonia and Vochysia ferruginea are characterized by maintaining higher concentrations of Ca in the bark. As observed in the table the two Vochysia trees concentrate the highest amounts of Al on their foliage, aresult previously observed in other studies [19]. On the average V. guatemalensis and V. ferrugenia concentrates 49 and 65 times more Al than the average of the remaining species.
