THE AERIDES BATHHOUSE
The only surviving hamam (pubic bathhose) in Athens is in Plaka. The hamam of Abid Efendi, popularly known as the 'Loutro ton Aeridon' (Aerides Bathhous), operated regularly until 1965. In 1984 in became the property of the Museum of Greek Folk Art and in 1998 works on its restoration were completed.
