The most important
cemetery has been discovered in the modern city of Kranj in central
Slovenia since the late 19th c. The cemetery extends at the
foothill of historic settlement that was located on a steep promontory
at the confluence at Sava and Kokra rivers. Beside the finds
from the cemeteries, numerous pieces with garnets were found
in hilltop settlements that represented safe dwelling places for
the local population in those uncertain times
