A DC-DC converter is commonly placed between the SPV array and VSI (voltage source inverter) fed BLDC motorpump in order to track the optimum operating point of the SPV array using a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique [20-25]. Non-isolated DC–DC buck, boost, buck– boost, Cuk and SEPIC (Single Ended Primary Inductor Converter) converters used for MPPT in SPV applications are reviewed and compared in [26] and concluded that a buckboost converter is best suited for the SPV system.
