In partnership with the UNEP-Southeast Asian Youth Environment Network (SEAYEN), the Great ASEAN Eco-Debates was launched in Bangkok, Thailand last 25-27 September 2013 along with the ASEAN Water Dialogue Conference 2013.
A debate was held with the proposition "This house believes that it is high time for ASEAN states to create new avenues for youth." An evaluation of the audience's opinion on the matter was conducted after the debate. People who answered "I don't know" before debate decreased.
According to Piao, one of the core organizers of the Eco-Debates, this means that the audience "might have gained knowledge from [the] debate and [decided to] agree OR not agree [to] the motion.
