Dear Khun Sasithorn,
I am referring to your claim filed under our reference 8023354001.
First of all, I would like to convey my sincere apologies to Khun Piyawat Mahapauraya for the time it has taken me to respond to his enquiry about the unpleasant situation he encountered upon his departure on his flight AF166 from Paris to Bangkok on 19 May 2015.
I have made an investigation with our station manager at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport regarding this matter. Our records show that his flight AF166 was overbooked. I note that Khun Piyawat was surprised that he was assigned a Premium Economy seat despite having already had reserved a seat in our Business Class cabin. I can certainly understand his disappointment at not being able to travel as planned and wish to renew my apology on behalf of our company.
You mentioned that there was inadequate assistance and information given to the passenger during this difficult time. We admit that this shortcoming was on our part and I can only agree with you that more could have been done in order to keep his inconvenience to the absolute minimum.
Khun Sasithorn, your feedback and comments are important and I will ensure that they will be brought to the attention of our senior management in order to prevent recurrence.
As a goodwill gesture, I have arranged for an electronic travel credit voucher worth THB 14,010 (equivalent to EUR 400) to be sent to you in a separate communication. I would appreciate if you could forward the voucher together with a copy of this email to Khun Piyawat as I understand that he is awaiting our response.
Please be advised that this voucher is non-refundable and can be used as payment of tickets for carriage on Air France, KLM. The tickets for Air France and KLM can be issued in any Air France and KLM offices worldwide. The voucher is valid for one year from the date of issuance and can be transferred to another person once. The amount stated can only be used for the passenger indicated on it.
Should you require further clarification or assistance in utilising this voucher, please do not hesitate to contact our Sales and Service Centre on +66 2 610 0808 or 001 800 441 0771 (Reservation Option) during standard business hours.
Furthermore, the terms in the EU Regulations (EC261/2004) stipulates that passengers who are placed in a class lower than that for which the ticket was purchased may receive a possible refund of a fare difference. As a travel agency, you can initiate this process directly. If you have any questions, please feel free to consult our Travel Agent Help Line +66 2 610 0880.
We do hope that Khun Piyawat's future travels with us will be seamless and trouble free and look forward to welcoming him again soon on one of our routes.
